The Sorrowful Mysteries: Jesus tells us to take up our cross daily and follow Him.
"Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few." Matthew 7:13-14

The Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
July 16th is the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Many of us wear the Brown Scapular as a sign of devotion to Our Blessed Mother and as a sign of concentration to her Immaculate Heart.
"For a very long time I too have worn the Carmelite Scapular! Because of the love which I have for Our Heavenly Mother, whose protection I experience constantly." Pope John Paul II

The Third Sorrowful Mystery - The Crowning with Thorns
The 3rd Sorrowful Mystery of the Rosary - The Crowning with Thorns
"Plaiting a crown of thorns they put it on his head, and put a reed in his right hand. And kneeling before him they mocked him , saying, 'Hail, King of the Jews!' And they spat upon him , and took the reed and struck him in the head." Matt.27:29-30
Dear Jesus, with one glance You could have defeated the soldiers who mocked you; but with self-control, forgiveness and humility, you defeated sin.

Who will roll away the stone?
The 1st Glorious Mystery- The Resurrection. And very early on the first day of the week they went to the tomb when the sun had risen. And they were saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the door of the tomb?" And looking up, they saw the stone was rolled back; for it was very large. And entering the tomb...Mark 16:2-5
Today through faith, as we seek Jesus, the stones and obstacles in our lives will be rolled away.

Reflections on the Visitation-Rev. Msgr. Vaghi
"After Mary's 'fiat', moved by inner promptings of the Holy Spirit, she traveled to the hill country 'in haste'(Lk 1:39). It was the 1st thing Mary did after the Annunciation. There is a sense of urgency in the air as this young girl, our Blessed Mother, hastens with child into the Judean hills, a journey of some 130 miles from Nazareth, to visit her elder cousin, who was also with child in her time of need. It is a mission of love.
